Highway285

 

 

HIghway 285 is a major US Highway that is used for major North - South transportation.  It cuts through Denver and is known as Hamden Blvd.  It's effect on Evergreen real estate is minimal as Evergreen is accessed mostly via I-70.  Conifer real estate however is affected by this major highway and some years ago this route could be troublesome as it was simply a two lane road with sharp turns as it headed out of Denver and south towards New Mexico.  Today however this stretch through Conifer's real estate is no longer so challenging as the highway has been expanded to four lanes with speeds set at 55 MPH. 
 
In the past it could be very challenging on a day where it snowed or when there was an accident but today those challenges are a thing of the past as the commute times to the Denver metro area have been reduced considerably.  As a matter of fact you can get from downtown Conifer to Downtown Denver without hitting a single traffic light.
